Five minutes is enough for a reset when the target is specific. Do not begin with “the kitchen.” Begin with one counter section, one drawer or five items that belong somewhere else.
- Choose one boundary. Use a shelf, surface or small floor patch.
- Remove obvious rubbish. Make the easy decisions first.
- Return misplaced items. If another room is far away, use one relocation basket.
- Stop when time ends. Notice the visible difference before choosing another task.
A finished five-minute task is more useful than an ambitious plan you avoid.
